About Irene Hoff
For Asia-based Dutch artist Irene Hoff, the world is out of balance, which is evidenced by both the human and environmental challenges we are currently faced with. Irene’s aim is to encourage and support humanity in reclaiming their sovereignty, in overcoming limiting beliefs, and in discovering their personal talents – always with the intention of moving people towards a more passionate and carefree, lighthearted life.
Hi, dear artist! Could you introduce yourself? Your background, when and why you decided to be an artist?
My name is Irene Hoff, I am a Dutch multimedia artist and I live with my 2 daughters already for over 10 years on the beautiful Island of Bali. Before I moved here I lived in Hongkong, HCMC (Vietnam) and Jakarta.
I decided to become an artist when I was very young but my mom told me to do something else so I would be more secured in making a living. However, after my first daughter was born I slowly grew back into the idea of becoming an artist. I think when it is deep inside of you, it will keep showing up in your life. Passion is something deep inside all of us and I think we should listen to it more and use our talent that we have to the max, no matter what it is, as long as it makes you feel good!

We know that this question may be very challenging to answer but…what is your mission as an artist?
This is a very easy question for me as my message is very important to me. I feel the world is out of balance, which is evidenced by both the human and environmental challenges we are currently faced with. My aim is to encourage and support humanity in reclaiming their sovereignty, in overcoming limiting beliefs, and in discovering their personal talents – always with the intention of moving people towards a more passionate and carefree, lighthearted life. We love your series of work entitled ‘Don’t blow my cover’! Could you tell us more about it, the style and the message of it?
Thank you! I feel that if we focus more on our ‘inner-being’, by creating more silence, shutting off the mind, we get to see our true colours and potential; the powerful, creative and beautiful human beings that we are. I wish people get to see and feel that more about themselves, that they are enough by just being who they supposed to be, authentic and reel. The more self-love people have, the more space and empathy there is for others, which will make the world thrive and blossom.

Don’t blow my cover
Don’t blow my cover is about how people get stuck in their own beliefs and those of others, how tinted their view on life can be, how other people’s opinion influence them, and how all this affects their outlook and attitude on their life and who they are. How the layers that block us from truly being who we are, can be broken down and tore off.
How could you describe your work in a few words?
Feminine, surprise, layers, female warrior, energy, hope, inspirational, collage, impactful, fresh, colourful, interesting, animals, fun, magical.

I just did a show in the South of Bali with a place called Savaya, but at the moment most of the art shows are unfortunately online. Galleries that represent my art are in USA, Canada, Singapore, London and Amsterdam, so if anyone likes to get those contacts, please email me irene@irenehoff.com.
